DDNS is a service that allows you to update your DNS records automatically. Although Nya.je is advertised as such, we also support manually setting DNS records. Essentially, you can use Nya.je as a way to get a free domain for your computer or server.

We support the following record types: A, AAAA, ALIAS, CNAME, SRV, and TXT. We also support wildcard records.

It can take some time for the changes to take effect.

No, nya.je is not on the Public Suffix List right now. We will submit it once we have enough users. This currently means that other domains can set cookies for other domains and access them. To avoid this, prefix all your cookies with __Host-, which makes them only accessible to the host they are set for.

You're allowed to host anything, except for the following:

• Illegal content in United States, Germany or in your local jurisdiction;
• Websites that contain malware, viruses, or phishing;
• Low quality websites for purposes of search engine optimization, gambling or spam;
• Websites that contain real-life pornography or gore;
• Websites that contain "lolicon" or "shotacon" content.

We do not allow these records to be created to prevent the abuse of our service. In future, we may introduce a paid plan that will allow this.

Currently we only allow 1 domain to be created per account, and 25 records per domain. This may change in the future if we introduce a paid plan.

CNAME records can only be used on subdomains and cannot exist alongside other record types (like A or AAAA). A CNAME points a subdomain to another domain name (for example, home.nya.je points to otherdomain.com).

ALIAS records are similar, but can be used at the zone apex (root, e.g., username.nya.je) and coexist with other records. ALIAS records behave like CNAMEs but are resolved at the DNS level so your root domain can point to another hostname.

Yes, you can add your nya.je domain to Nekoweb by using the ALIAS record type.
